Roll, Roll, Rollerblader

Let me sleep on here jerk!
Fine, we will just sleep together!

Hello! Well I figure it is time for me to update this because guess what I did today!!! Yes that is right I rollerbladed!!! Jese didn't have rollerblades here and so he rode his bike behind me!! We didn't make it very far! I haven't rollerbladed in like 5 years and I haven't exercised in about 2 years so I am quite a bit out of shape!! Right away I could feel it in my butt, haha!! We also studied today and took the kittens outside for a little bit! Oh yeah this morning we tried studying outside but I started getting sleepy from the sun and so I was just tanning instead of reading my Bus. Law book so we went back inside! Yesterday we watched The Queen, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars, it was pretty good but it didn't make the queen look very good. Oh yes we watched Freedom Writers the other day and I gave that 5/5 stars, it was very good! Well that is all I know, Jese wants to know what we are having for supper so I must go!

Last Day of Classes!!!!

Hello! Well today is the last day of classes, yeepee!!! Right now I am just sitting outside of one of my classes waiting to get in because my last class got out early! Basically all we are doing today is filling out class evaluations, very boring! Well what has happened since I last wrote....yesterday Jese and I gave our presentation in our Bio lab, I think we did pretty good! She was supposed to write our grade in our lab notebook and we went and picked it up today and the grade wasn't wrote in there so I emailed her to find out what we got but she hasn't responded yet, jerk! On wednesday I had my final in my MIS class (that is a computer class) I think I did pretty good on it! We had to do some stuff with graphs and mine kept getting messed up so it took me longer to do this part of the test compared to Mondays. But I was still the second one done! Yay me! I am very bored right now! There is a tv in this room but it is never on, I wonder why they bothered putting it in here, it is a very nice flat screen one that is hung up on the wall. I think I seen it on once last year but that is it! I decided my kittens look fat when they lay down but when they are standing they don't so it is okay! Oh yes I have some pictures of them because I know you all miss them but I don't have my camera with me so I can't put them on here right now, maybe later, but probably not! Yesterday Bill Clinton was on Rachael Ray, he was talking about fat kids! Man I thought I had big bags under my eyes, I think he has the biggest ones I have ever seen! That would suck! In my last class my teacher gave us candy and I took a red sucker and now I am paranoid that my mouth is red, I thought about taking a picture of myself with my phone but I thought people would look at me funny so I didn't! Well they probably will look at me funny anyways if my mouth is red! Oh well! Well I don't think I know anything else so bye!
Christa
Oh yes I know you all want a weather update so here it is! Right now it is 62 degrees, it is supposed to be up to 71 degrees today! Tomorrow the high is 72 and sunday it is 82!! I think I am going to be a weather woman on Kare 11 News with Sven we would look good together!

"To play it safe is not to play." -Robert Altman

Hello! Well not much has happened the last few days! Yesterday I brought all of my application in, I haven't heard from anyone yet, jerks! On Monday night I wanted cake and so I made a chocolate cake at 7:00! It is very yummy, that is what I had for lunch yesterday and maybe I will again today! Yesterday my Papa played poker and now he is ranked number 1!! man, he is good! (he told me to write that!) Right now I am sitting in one of my classes but we haven't started yet because someone came in to take a survey, it was about diversity, exciting huh! It is only 53 degrees right now! On Sunday it is supposed to be in the high 70's!! I only have classes today, tomorrow, and friday and then I am done with classes and then I have finals next week! I have 2 on tuesday, 1 on wednesday, and 1 on thursday! Every day I have to get up early because they start at 8 AM!! I think I will just wear a hat and not take a shower until afterwards!! Yeah right, I never go anywhere without taking a shower unless I am up north. Oh, I am SOOOO excited to go up north!! I am going up for fishing opener on May 10th! I am very excited!!!!! I hope the weather is nice, last year it was cold and rainy, but that is okay because then we can just play games!! Well what else do I know for today... oh yes, tomorrow bill clinton will be on rachael ray if anyone wants to watch it! I won't be able to watch it all though because I have to go to my bio lab and give a presentation with Jese! He is panicing because we haven't gone over it yet!! I told him not to go nut-so on me!! I did the whole power point for it yesterday! hummm, what else do I know......today I am going to make some kind of chicken breast for supper! Well I guess I don't know anything else so I guess I will let you continue with your day! Bye.

"Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday." -Don Marquis

Hello! Well I am done with my paper and I have handed it in! Now you don't have to read about it anymore, lucky you! Yesterday I got applications for Midtown Foods, Vanity, Book World, Hallmark, Vanity, Christopher Banks, and Maurices, I am going to turn them all in tomorrow since I have no classes, hopefully one of them hires me! I spent an hour filling all of them out, my hand was very sore! Yesterday morning I became a clipping queen! Jese and I went shopping and at Walgreens we spent $42, our savings were $25 from all of the coupons I clipped! We got 5 12-packs of pop for $10, 3 18-packs of water for $8, 2 boxes of kleneexs for the price of one, same with 2 toothpastes, and dental floss! We got other stuff to but I don't remeber what! At Walmart we got 2 packages of taco seasoning for $0.10!! At walmart we only saved $10, but that is still better than none! Oh yes and on the walmart website you can get free samples of toothpaste, deoderant, drugs, etc., so I did that too! Well what else do I know...this is the last week of classes, yepee!! Next week we just have finals and then it is summer!! This semseter went by really fast, it doesn't feel like we should be done already but that is okay I don't mind! I am excited because I am getting The Queen and Freedom Writers from Netflix!! It is about time I get a movie on the top of my list! Oh yes on Saturday Tim and Toph came by, Toph brought hamburger to grill but he got the 73/27 stuff so it just started a massive fire on the grill so I had to sit out there with it to make sure nothing burned! After about 30 min. the burgers were finally done and they liked them very much! Well I guess I don't really know anything else, oh yes my creepy neighbor keeps looking in the windows every time he walks by and he knows I see him because I look out the window to see if he looks in, creepy! I think I am going to put a sign up on my door saying stop looking in here creepy!! Well that is really all I know! Have a nice day!

Well here it is, it didn't copy right but I am sure nobody is going to waste their time reading 6, yes 6 pages on India's economy! It is the most boring paper I have ever wrote! I emailed it to the prof. and now I am just waiting to hear back from him with any changes that need to be made! Oh yeah, I have never had to write an abstract before, pretty sure I didn't know what to write!

Growing Economy of India

Christa Wadekamper

April 23, 2007

Abstract
Over the next decade India is going to become one of the largest economies in the world. Their economy is already underway on growing with an increase of GDP growth rate averaging out to be 5.7% each year. Their exports are increasing and job variety is getting greater as time goes on.

Located in Southern Asia and slightly more than one-third the size of the United States, Asia is the second most populous nation in the world and is the becoming one of the largest economies in the world. According to the World Factbook, 64.3% of India’s population is between the ages of 15-64 years old, while only 4.9% are 65 or older.
With a population growth rate of 1.38%, India is predicted to be the most populous nation in the world by 2015. 80.5% of the people in India are Hindu, making it the largest religion there. Hindi is the national language and English is the most important language when it comes to national, political, and commercial communication. There are nearly 650,000 villages which are home to more than two-thirds of the population of India. Home to droughts, flash floods, monsoonal rains, and earthquakes, India has the fourth-largest reserves of coal in the world. Other natural resources include; iron ore, manganese, mica, bauxite, titanium ore, chromite, natural gas, diamonds, petroleum, limestone, and arable land which all contribute to the growing economy.

GDP Facts
With an economy consisting of agriculture, handicrafts, textile, manufacturing, and a massive amount of services, India has become the fourth largest economy in the world when measured by purchasing power parity. The Indian economy, by 2025, is expected to be about 60% of the size of the United States economy, according to Economy Watch.com. Not only is India the fourth largest economy in the world, it has also become the second fastest growing major economy in the world. The economy of India has been growing and is predicted to continue to grow, since 1979 the average GDP growth rate has been 5.7%, during the 23-year growth record. During the second quarter of 2006-2007, India had a GDP growth rate of 9.2%. By 2035, the share in world GDP India has is expected to rise from 6% to 11%, making the US and China economies the only ones larger than India. By 2020, India’s GDP at current prices is expected to overtake France and Italy, by 2025 it’s predicted to overtake Russia, and by 2035 Japan. The rupee has steadily appreciated vis-à-vis US dollar. As of April 13, 2007 the Rupee exchange rate is about 42 to a US dollar. India’s reserve money has doubled to 18.3% in 2003-04, compared to 9.2% in 2002-03. This was driven entirely by the increase in the net foreign exchange assets of the Reserve Bank of India; however, from 2005 to the current year, it has declined to 6.4%. During 2004-05 the broad money stock increased by 7.4%. Gross fixed income investment consisted of 29.2% of 2006’s GDP. A 2006 estimate of India’s federal and state debt combined was 52.8% of the GDP. India’s inflation rate for consumer prices in 2006 was 5.3%. Agriculture, industry, and services all make up India’s GDP, the composition by sector is; 60%, 12%, and 28% respectively. A 2007 estimate of the real growth rate GDP was 9.2% compared to 4% in 2000. The GDP purchasing power parity during a 2006 estimate was $4.042 trillion, the GDP official exchange rate was $796.1 billion. Compared to other third-world countries India is by far the leader in GDP purchasing power parity. (See Fig. 1)

About two-thirds of the people working in India still earn the living directly or indirectly through agriculture. Rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, jute, tea, sugarcane, potatoes; cattle, water buffalo, sheep, goats, poultry, and fish are all of the things that encompass India’s agriculture. The percentage of value add to GDP from agriculture in 2000 was 23.7% and in 2005 this decreased to 18.6%. Accounting for more than half of India’s output is services, which is a major source of India’s economic growth; however, this only uses less than one quarter of its labor force. The percentage of value added to GDP from services in 2000 was 50% compared to 53.8% in 2005. India is fifteenth worldwide when it comes to service output. The major industries in India are; textiles, chemicals, food processing, steel, transportation, equipment, cement, mining, petroleum, machinery, and software. In 2006, industrial production growth rate was 7.5%. Percentage of value added to GDP from industries in 2000 was 26.3% and in 2005 it was 27.6%. Some employment opportunities that are having growth rates are; manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, nanotechnology, telecommunication shipbuilding, and aviation. With more of the people living in India becoming more educated and fluent in English, India is becoming a major exporter of workers in software, financial services, and software engineering.

Exports and Imports
Textile goods, gems and jewelry, engineering goods, chemicals, and leather manufactures are some of the things India exports. During 2000, exports of goods and services accounted for 13.2% of India’s GDP. This number rose to 19% by 2004 and is still increasing. India exported $112 billion during 2006. (See Fig. 5) The United States is India’s largest export partner, taking 16.7% of India’s exports. Other export partners are; UAE, China, Singapore, UK, and Hong Kong. Also rising was India’s imports of goods and services; in 2000, imports accounted for 14.1% of GDP and in 2004 they accounted for 21%. According to the World Factbook, some of the things India imports are; crude oil, machinery, gems, fertilizer, and chemicals. In 2006 India imported $187.9 billion from China, United States, and Switzerland. During the year 2005, oil produced was 785,000 bbl/day and 2,450,000 bbl/day was consumed. Proved oil reserves in 2006 were 5.6 billion bbl. In 2005, India exported an estimated 350,000 bbl/day in oil, and imported 2.09 million bbl/day. During 2004, India exported an approximate 60 million kWh and imported 1.5 billion kWh. During 2004, natural gas production was 28.2 billion cu m and consumption was 30.83 billion cu m, meaning they used more than they produced. They didn’t export any natural gas but imported 2.63 billion cu m during 2004. Proved natural gas reserves are at 853.4 billion cu m, as of 2005.

Angola
$34,430,000,000
Chad
$4,342,000,000

Fig. 5 – When comparing India to other third world countries it can be seen that their exports are much greater than any others, resulting in a better economy.

Life in India
Life is also slowly getting better in India. In 2004 the time it took to start a business was 89 days, in 2005 this decreased to 71 days. Market capitalization of listed companies in percentage of GDP was 32.1 in 2000 and by 2005 it was 70.4. School enrollment has also gone up. In 2000, 98.9 (% gross) were enrolled in primary schools and in 2004 the number shot up to 116.2. This number has also gone up for secondary and tertiary school enrollment. Only 59.5% of the people are literate, and 70.2% of that is male. (See Fig. 6) Compared to other countries this number is still low. Per 1,000 fixed line and mobile phone subscribers in 2000 were 35.4, in 2004 it was 84.5. Internet users per 1,000, has also been increasing, in 2000 it was 5.4, which increased to 32.4 by 2004.
Literacy Rate

Madagascar
68.90%
Niger
17.60%
Angola
85.80%
Chad
47.50%

Fig. 6 – India still has a low literacy rate when compared to other third world countries with only 59.5% of the population literate.

Why the economy woke up
Once India gained its independence it started the journey of getting a better economy, but not at first. According the Wikipedia, in 1947 Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister, and statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis carried on the economic policy by Indira Gandhi they did not help India’s economy. In fact Milton Friedman said that he thought it was a waste of capital and labor. The policy they carried out was the economic policy of protectionism. With this policy there were high tariffs on imported goods and the government put regulations that were designed to discourage imports. They also used centrally planned economy, which meant the government controlled the factors of production and made all of the decisions on how they would be used, the government also made the decisions on how the income would be distributed. Some critics of central planning say that it is less likely to promote innovation than a free market economy and with it inventors can not reap benefits by patenting new technology so there is no incentive to innovate, according to Wikipedia. During the 1980’s price controls were removed and corporate taxes were reduced. These were initiated by Rajiv Gandhi and were the pro-business measures that were made. Many public monopolies were ended and so was the License Raj.[1] Foreign investment was opened; reforming capital markets was done as was the trade regime. In 1992 the Controller of Capital Issues; which decided prices and number of shares a firm could issue, was destroyed. By 2005, India’s economy was $3,815.6 billion, which was 5% of the world income, according to Wikipedia. Without all of these changes the economy of India could not grow, which is why it took until the 1980’s for it to begin. With a change in the way the economy was handled India has been able to grow as a strong economy.
Within the next 10 to 20 years the economy of India is going to continue to grow and probably become a major player in the world economy. India’s GDP is growing along with their services, exports, and technology; however, they still have to deal with problems of poverty, massive overpopulation, environmental degradation, and disputes with Pakistan. More of the younger generations are being enrolled in school making India more educated and ready for the future. With a population growth rate of 1.38% India will continue to grow, but not only in population.

"Eat a live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day." -Unknown

Hello! Well not much has really happened but I am stalling on writting my paper because I have to run down and change the laundry in 5 minutes so I don't want to start my paper! Well actually I started it yesterday, yes that is right I finally started it! I have the introduction done, now I just have to write 3 1/2 pages, find enough graphs and tables to fill 2 pages, and write the abstract on the title page! Really that paper is supposed to be 7-22 pages, including the title page, graphs, and biblography, but the text part has to be at least 4 pages, shouldn't take to long! I forgot to write the other day that I got to register for my fall classes on tuesday and for the first time ever I got into all of them! That is because I took a test last semester so I could register early, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten into any of them again! I have no classes on Monday or Fridays so that will be sweet and I only have one class on Wednesday! I am only taking 5 classes however because all of the other ones I wanted to take were at the same time as the other classes I am taking, oh well! Brrr, I am cold right now, all of the windows are open and it is only 52 degrees, I think I may shut one or two of them untill it warms up a bit more! It is supposed to get up to 62 degrees today and then this weekend it is going to warm up into the 70s!!! Perfect weather for a BBQ I think!! Well what else do I know....oh yes, yesterday I brought Pizza outside by myself because she kept meowing in the windows, much like Amy's kitten Charlie does when she wants to go outside! So I was nice and brought her out! She ran all over, but then she decided to go through a bush that I couldn't get through and so we were stuck for a few minutes because I couldn't reach her to pull back to my side and she was fighting against the leash trying to get me to come to her side, eventually I broke my way through the bush! This morning Jese called up Qwest and got my wireless internt working again!! He is so nice, he had to call 3 times before he got someone who knew what they were talking about! Well I think my laundry is ready to be switched now so I better go change it because I have about 7 more loads to do by 3:45 today!
Bye,

It's a sad day in the Wadekamper-Rugroden Apt.

Hello everyone! Well I have some bad news, Fluffy escaped again last night and this moring he fell out the back door and into the back yard! While he was in the apt. last night he managed to take all of the cat food out of the dish and put it all in the entertainment center behind some pictures. Now he is free to roam the apartment backyard!
Well yesterday, Mother and Amy came over and we went to La Crosse to see how mothers dress fits. Before we La Crosse Jese picked up Timmy Lien so they could carry up our couch that mother brought for us! Then Jese went to work and we brought Tim back to his dorm and we went to Lacrosse! When we got back from La Crosse we went to the Drive Inn and ate and then Amy feed Liam and then they left at 6:30! Then I watched some telly for the rest of the night! Then I went to bed at 9:45! Well I really don't know anything else so have a nice day!

"I know a lot about cars. I can look at a car's headlights and tell you exactly which way it's coming." -Mitch Hedberg

Yes Hello, is anyone out there??? I can't hear you, can you hear me???? HELLOOOOO!!!! Well I guess I will assume you can hear me then! Well this weekend it was super nice outside!! On saturday I cleaned cleaned cleaned!! And Jese and I played frisbee a little bit in the park while we waited for our laundry to dry! Yesterday Father Time, oh wait I mean Father Tim came and finally visited us!! He brought us a dresser from Sister Amy's house so now we have more room for our clothes! I filled it with cross country shirts! We played frisbee golf with father, pretty much I suck balls!! Jese lost a frisbee because he threw it into the lake, silly boy, Father threw his in the lake twice but Jese went in after it once and the other time Papa just reached in and got it! After we were done playing frisbee golf we walked over the drive inn, on the way over Papa did 20 pull-ups, but only ten at a time! When we got to the drive-inn we ate some yummy food! I got a corn dog and chicken nuggets, Jese got the sugarloaf mt. burger and Dad got the california burger, and they also got deep-fried mushrooms to share!! After that we walked back to the apt. On our way back we seen some cops doing a drug deal with eachother, or maybe they were just talking to each other! When we got back Papa and Jese threw the couch over the balcony, opps!! Then they threw it into the dumpster, but don't worry on tuesday mother will bring us a different couch! After Father left Jese and I brought Pizza outside but she wasn't very exciting and she wouldn't stay in the Park so we brought her back and brought Oreo out, she was much better this time! She basically just sat next to us, except for when she wanted to make friends with the duckies!! They didn't want to be friends with her thought so they flew away, jerks! Well that is really all we did this weekend! Today it is supposed to get up to 70 degrees, holy moly dude!!!!! Oh yes I forgot to say, on Friday my computer somehow deleated the wireless profile for our internet at the apt. so now it won't work unless I hook a cord up into the internt thing and also I had to have my computer re-imaged (which basically means it went to crap and all of the programs were installed and it was like it was when I first got it! But don't worry it didn't delate any of my school work) So because of this I had to sit in the Tech. Support for over an hour, I was not a happy kamper, but don't worry I was still a wadekamper! Tomorrow Mother Sharon and Sister Amy and Nephew Liam are going to come visit me because Mother has to have her dress fitted in Lacrosse and because they are bringing me mammas old couch!! Well that is all I know I think so bye, hopefully you could hear me!!

"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything." -Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

Hello! Well I have been super busy this week! On Monday I had class all day and in between classes I swept and vaccumed the apartment, and then I was almost late for class! After I was done with all of my classes I started to study for my Business Law test that I have today. I did that the rest of the night, while watching Dancing With the Stars! On Tuesday (yesterday) I got up at 7:45 and took a shower, read the paper, ate breakfest, and then I studied some more!! At 12:30 I took a break and went to Midwest Wireless with Jese to change my phone over to an old one so I can see the screen again! Then went I got back I studied some more, what a suprise huh!! The rest of the day studied for Business Law and Enviroment, except at 2:30 I took a half an hour nap, Jese called me and woke me up at 3:00, that is why I didn't sleep longer!! Easter!

Hello everyone!! Well this weekend Jese and I went back home for easter and it was very busy!! On Saturday we went straight to New Richland for easter with Jese's family then we meet mother at Grandma b.'s house and went up to Cassies to have my mothers birthday supper. Jese and I got back to Dads around 10:30, I went straight to bed but Jese stayed up until 12:00 doing homework. On Sunday Cassie, Nick, Amy, and Adam all came over to Dad's to have some waffels for breakfast. Then Amy and Adam left and at 2:00 Cassie, Nick, Jese and I all went to Grandma B.'s for easter with that family. I don't think anyone liked my dress, but I think that is just because they were all jealous! At 6:00 Jese and I left and went back to Wy-noooona! My kittens were naughty while we were gone because they got into one of the folders and took every paper out of it, and there were lots of them, and the papers were spread all over, jerk! Then last night at 5:00 AM Oreo decided that she was lonely and so she came on me and meowed the rest of the morning, jerk! Now I am very tired and I want to go to sleep! Well I must go now so bye!!

1 basket cake, 1 bunny cake, and 24 cupcakes, done!

Hello! Well today I have been BUSY!! I have made a basket cake, from scratch (not the frosting though!), cupcakes from scratch, and a bunny cake from a box! Well the bunny cake isn't done yet because I am not frosting it until Sunday morning! The basket cake is for the Rugroden family, the cupcakes are for mothers birthday supper, and the bunny cake is for the Becker family! I didn't make the bunny cake from scratch because I didn't want to because it has to be a yellow or white cake and they take more ingrediants than a chocolate cake, and then I would have had to buy more eggs and sugar! I hope everyone thinks my basket cake looks like a basket. I got my car brakes fixed today, pretty much the everything in the back had to be replaced, they took pictures of it in case I didn't believe them, and when I got there to pick up my car they showed me the old parts. The front brakes were fine so that is good! Jese is at work right now. I applied at Wells Fargo yesterday, you get an interview right away, there were tons of people there applying, I hope I get hired but I am not going to say how I think I did because then I might jinx myself! Well I am hungry now so I am going to eat some string cheese and watch Racheal Ray!

Dreaming of baseball!

Hello everyone!! Well this weekend was a busy one! On friday Jese and I went to Owatonna and I learned how to work the timer for the state archery shoot and then we brought amy to fathers house with us. We had to go there so Jese could tape the bedroom and bathroom. I made supper, but I didn't eat it because it was hamburgers and I don't like hamburgers so I had a hot dog instead. Well really Father grilled them, I just got supper ready! Saturday morning I got to Owatonna at 9:00 am and I sat and blew a whistle untill 6:00! Then we went to the banquet and Cassie, Amy, and I sold raffel tickets. When we got to Waseca we went out to Club 57 and Jese meet us there. I got back to mothers at 1:00 am and then I went to bed! The next morning Jese and I got to Owatonna around 8:30 so I could blow the whistle some more and so he could be a line judge some more! After we were done with that we went back to Fathers so Jese could finish taping and then we came back to Wy-nooona! My brakes are completly out in my car so yesterday Jese and I had to share his car, which was not fun, but today I don't need to go anywhere so Jese gets his car all day! Today I have done the rest of our laundry that I didn't get done this weekend and I have done the dishes and now I am going to study a bit! There are like 15 days left of school!! Yeepee!! Oh yes I forgot to tell you what we had for supper last night! We had steak (just chops), mushrooms, and a potato (a huge one) all on the grill!! Well I have to go get the laundry out of the dryer now so bye!!
